Heirloom: Ethiopian Varieties
2,000 - 2,350 masl
Natural
Juicy, sweet and syrupy with tangy fruit acidity, strawberry jam, chocolate, plum, raisin, peach and rose
The Guji region of southern Ethiopia is a remote place, beautifully forested and – in many ways – an untouched area of the country. Today most of the residents of the Guji region are still Oromo people. However, people from other parts of Ethiopia have also settled in parts of the region over the years, many of them coming from more arid areas of the country to farm here.
Jamaica
1500 - 2000 masl
Natural
Juicy, sweet and syrupy with tangy fruit acidity, strawberry jam, chocolate, plum, raisin, peach and rose
Named after the mist that casts a blue-tinged glow over the Jamaican mountainside, this coffee was grown beneath the peak of the 7,400-foot / 2,250-meter Blue Ridge. The dew, along with plentiful rainfall and fertile soil, helps create ideal growing conditions. After the harvest, the beans are scrutinized and certified to ensure nothing short of the highest quality. The result: a complex cup with layers of citrus flavor and a hint of cocoa.
